Partnering with The Gift of Chess, we equip our youth with chess as a powerful framework for critical thinking, foresight, and resilience—on and off the board.
JazzA x Wild Mural x Chelilde
Led by Victoria Firth and Billy Chelilde, the Wild Mural used art to teach our community about ocean life, connection, and environmental care, supported by partners like POSCA GALLERY.

About Us
Growing up in Kawangware, I was one of the few children who had the rare privilege of a well-stocked library in my school. That space became my sanctuary — a place where I discovered stories, sharpened my voice, and dared to dream beyond the limits of my neighborhood. The books I read gave me the confidence to stand on stages, the courage to tell my own story, and the imagination to see a different future.
I know many children in communities like mine never get that chance. JazzALibrary exists to change that — to create spaces where every child, no matter their background, can access books, art, and music that open doors of possibility. Because when you give a child the gift of reading, you give them the power to rewrite their own future.
Our Mission
Libraries & Knowledge
Our goal is to enhance social mobility and bridge the literacy gap by fostering a culture of reading and critical thinking. We believe literacy goes beyond comprehension—it is a tool for shaping active, informed, and engaged citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society.
Arts & Music
Our Art and Music programs provide the tools, mentorship, and inclusive environment necessary to turn artistic curiosity into tangible skill, and personal expression into professional and personal agency. We are committed to breaking down barriers to access, ensuring that the life-changing benefits of arts education—discipline, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and self-esteem—are available to all.
Chess & Critical Thinking
As part of our sustainability efforts, we are currently developing a craftpreneruship program in partnership with the local JazzA community and especially at-risk youth giving them a pathway to market. From woodworking, glass work, arts and crafts to upcycled fashion, our JazzA space will be used to build and rebuild the lives of our members with opportunities that
Community Engagement
Our digital literacy programs are the soundboard where logic meets creativity. We teach the architecture of the digital world—demystifying the cloud, composing with code, and designing the future. Here, we empower the community to become fluent authors of their digital lives, turning ones and zeros into opportunity, art, and voice. Our programs provide the essential keys to the digital universe—from foundational computer skills to advanced coding and digital media production. We create a supportive, hands-on environment where curiosity is rewarded, problem-solving is collaborative, and every individual gains the agency to learn, create, and thrive online and beyond.
